The Piccolo Giro di Lombardia, an international cycling classic for the Under 23 category, scheduled for Oggiono (Lecco) on Sunday 4th October 2020, is preparing to experience a new exciting edition. The 92nd of its history.
THE ROUTE - As already communicated in the last days, the route designed by Velo Club Oggiono presents in this season some novelties in its initial part. The riders will face three laps of a short-range circuit around the area of Oggionese with three times the climb of Sirtori. The finish, on the other hand, remains unchanged compared to the last editions and has always given a spectacular show in recent years. Then confirmed the legendary climb to Ghisallo (after about 128 km) and then, in sequence, first the tear of Villa Vergano that leads to Colle Brianza, then the Marconaga di Ello that will most likely be the points where the race will be decided this year and that will bring out the name of a new winner.
THE PROGRAM - The meeting for the preliminary operations and the licence check is scheduled from 8 a.m. at the headquarters of Banca BCC Brianza e Laghi in via Lazzaretto 15/A to Oggiono. The presentation of all participating teams will follow from 10.30 am. There are 30 registered teams, 10 Italian and 20 foreign teams of 14 nationalities. The official start will be given in viale Vittoria at 12 noon. In total the competitors will have to cover 177,7 km. The arrival is expected around 4 p.m. at Oggiono.
LA DIRETTA STREAMING - The Organization of the Piccolo Giro di Lombardia has scheduled once again this year a live streaming that will affect the final phase of the race. Starting at about 2.30 p.m., before the climb to Ghisallo, it will be possible to follow the race live on the social channels of the Piccolo Giro di Lombardia, a live stream also shared on the pages of BICITV and the local TV station TV Unica.
