In a cycling calendar battered by the difficulties and complications dictated by the Covid-19 emergency, there remains a certainty for international activity: the 92nd Piccolo Giro di Lombardia will be there.

The appointment, this year, is scheduled for Sunday, October 4th again at Oggiono (Lecco), where, as tradition, the best talents in the world of the Under 23 category are expected. Organizing direction of the Velo Club Oggiono chaired by Daniele Fumagalli who has received the approval of the FCI in the last few days.

A race that has made the history of cycling and that has launched a myriad of young riders into the orbit of the pro world and then became champions. In the last ten years, thanks to the wise organization of the Velo Club Oggiono, the event has grown even more prestigious and has now become one of the most  fot the strongest young riders and the most famous teams from all over the world. In 2019 Andrea Bagioli, now a professional with the Deceuninck - Quick-Step and already twice winner this year, won the event.

There will be some changes regarding the route, which will be revealed in the next few days, but the final part, the most demanding and always decisive, will remain unchanged.

The president of the Velo Club Oggiono Daniele Fumagalli explains: "The moment is certainly not the easiest one for the ongoing health emergency, but we found that the conditions were in place to organise the race safely and we did not have too many hesitations. Ours is a choice of continuity and obstinacy. We did not want to lose the tradition and historicity of a race that has crossed the threshold of 90 years and that represents a reference point for many young riders worldwide. My whole group has worked immensely hard to help me carry this initiative forward. Our desire is to gratify once again this year the sponsors who have always been close to us and all the athletes who in this complicated season have a mad desire to ride. It is certainly not easy to set up an event like ours at the moment, but with commitment, sacrifice and great willpower we want to do it".
