LOMBARDY U23 ON SUNDAY: SEGAERT WANTS TO DO THE ENCORE
2023-09-27

The Lombardia U23 heats up the engines. With just a few days to go before the competition that gives the winner the visa for professionalism, the list of participants is being drawn up. An appointment (Sunday 1 October), that of Oggiono in the Lecco area, which Alec Segaert reigning European time trial champion and winner of the last edition, does not want to miss. The Lotto Dstny Development rider, one of the best talents in Belgium, is reported to be in excellent form and wants to repeat last year's success that would allow him to be the only one to win the Lombardia U23 twice.

Together with Segaert, among the big favourites are the other Belgians Lecerf and Craps of Soudal Quick Step, the American Simmons (Jumbo Visma), the French Rondel (Tudor Pro Cycling), Magnier (Trinity Racing) and Jean (Ag2r Citroen), and the British Nerurkar (Trinity Racing) and Golliker (Groupama FDJ). For the victory also watch out for German Keup and Luxembourger Kockelmann (Lotto Kern Haus), Czech Pavel Novak (Colpack Ballan CSB), Norwegian Brennsaeter (Groupama FDJ), Irish Ryan (Jumbo Visma), Austrian Schretll (Tirol KTM) and Danish Lock (Sias Rime Cicli Drali) Foldager (Biesse Carrera).

Also fighting for the coveted goal, of course, were the Italians. Starting with the Italians Galimberti, Villa, Oioli, Meris, Mattio, Belletta and Iacomoni. Pettiti, D'Aiuto and Ambrosini are also highly anticipated.
