On 1 October, the 95th edition of 'Il Lombardia Under 23', the unmissable international finish organised by the Velo Club Oggiono, will take place. Teams from all over the world are already warming up their wheels, brakes, and forces in anticipation of the most important appointment on the Europa Tour calendar for the under-23 amateur category.
The most qualified teams have already signed up with just under three months to go before the race. No less than sixteen foreign teams will be at the start with their best riders, namely France's Ag2r Citroen and Groupama FDJ, Kazakhstan's Astana Qazaqstan, Belgium's Basso Team Flanders, Bingoal WB, Lotto Dstny, EFC L&R Van Mossel and Soudal Quick Step, the Monegasque National Team, the Israel Premier Tech Academy, from Austria the Tirol KTM Cycling Team, from Great Britain Zappi Racing Team, from neighbouring Switzerland the Swiss National Team, Tudor Pro Cycling and Velo Club Mendrisio, and from Holland Jumbo Visma.
The Lombardia U23 is sure to attract other top clubs, which have already applied to take part. As far as the clubs of our house are concerned, so far only five adhesions have been received: Colpack Ballan CSB, Biesse-Carrera, Onec Team, Sissio Team and Sias Rime Cicli Drali.
